Cory Michael Popiuk born March 22 1978 in Melville Saskatchewan.

Passion, exuberance and heart. Three words that anyone who had the honour of knowing Cory would agree described him best.

Whether it be music, hunting wild mushrooms, and cooking gourmet food, festivals, visiting a new city, love for the colour green, shuffle board tournaments or his most recent venture a juicing company with his sister. He put his heart and soul into each and everything he touched. An energy that will be missed among many for years to come.

His ability to see someone’s potential, help them in any way he could and celebrate with them when they’ve reached it was an intangible trait that is rare to come by.

A knack for connection and business was his legacy, and a footprint in the music industry was his claim. He did so with love and relatability that left anyone in the presence of his big green heart a little bit warmer and most definitely with a few more laughs than they’d had before.

His roots and his heart remained in Saskatchewan no matter where life’s journeys took him. With his family as the compass that led him back. A genuine and true soul as a son, brother, uncle, boyfriend and a friend.

Met at the gates by his Dad Les, who sadly passed over two years ago. He will be immeasurably missed by his Mom, Cec Popiuk, sister Krista (Chris) McLeod, sister Nicole Popiuk (Mike Dodds) Nieces and Nephews Ethan, Ryder, Sofia, Ruby, Keaton and Aries. Girlfriend Lindsay Irwin and children Lia, Cali and Mila.

“For a good life we just might have to weaken
And find somewhere to go
Go somewhere we’re needed
Find somewhere to grow
Grow somewhere we’re needed.”

- Gord Downie The Tragically Hip
