Doreen Faye Obituary

Doreen Marie Faye (nee Okolita)

September 10, 1960 - October 5, 2019 (age 59)

It is with great sadness that the family of Doreen Faye announces her sudden death due to a heart condition on Saturday, October 5, 2019 in Kelowna BC at 59 years of age.  Doreen will be deeply missed by her husband, Daniel Faye and her son Christopher Faye, brothers Joseph Okolita (Dianne), Gregory Okolita and John Okolita (Caralen) including their children Catherine, Vivienne and Sterling; inlaws Edward and Sonnia Faye, Darlene (Andy) Sutherland, Kelly (Audrey) Taylor-Faye, Leanne (Danny) Nixey and Wayne (Connie) Faye.  Doreen is pre-deceased by her parents Mike and Helen Okolita.

Doreen was born on September 10, 1960 in Beausejour, MB.  The Okolita family moved to Glenboro, MB in 1965 and to Fort Qu’Appelle, SK in 1977.  Doreen graduated from high school in 1978 and moved to Saskatoon where she met her future husband, Dan Faye.  Dan and Doreen were married on May 23, 1981 in Fort Qu’Appelle where they operated a clothing store and later moved to Langley BC in 1987 where they operated a fast food store and began a career in new home construction.  Doreen and Dan moved to Kelowna BC in 1996, where they continued in the home construction industry and built a storage complex.

Together Doreen and Dan built several successful businesses.  Doreen kept things organized, looking after the books and financials and Dan made things happen in the field.  Doreen loved her family and they loved her.  Doreen was the person to call her brothers and remind them of special dates and you could always expect a call and a card on your day.  She was a loving mother and wife who kept a spotless house, made multi-course breakfasts and dinners seven days a week for countless years while working and still found time to pitch in laying sod, tying rebar and doing whatever else needed to be done.  You could always count on Doreen when you needed her.  Doreen was always up for a piece of pie with ice cream and coffee and a good visit.  Doreen will be greatly missed by all her family and those who knew her.

A funeral service will be held at the Valley Alliance Church in Fort Qu’Appelle on Saturday, October 12, 2019 at 2:00 p.m.  Burial to follow at the Fort Qu’Appelle Town Cemetery.  Anyone wishing to pay their respects can do so at the funeral service or at a viewing to be held at the Valley Alliance Church, 760 Bay Ave South, Fort Qu’Appelle on Saturday, October 12 from 11:00am to 12:00 noon. Arrangements entrusted to Conley Funeral Home, Fort Qu’Appelle, Raymore and Wynyard, SK. 306-332-0555
