July 22, 1961 – June 18, 2019

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our family member. Karen battled with cancer for 6 years. She is predeceased by her parents Fredrick and Marceline (nee Starr) Alexson, paternal grandparents Angus and Teenie Alexson, maternal grandparents Allan and Agnes Starr and 4 siblings in infancy (Colleen, Mary, Elaine and Karen).

Karen is survived by her partner Anthony (Tony) Bear, godchildren Cherish and Alicia, siblings Garry (Marlene), Marcy, Bev, Del (Dorathy), Charlene, Sybil and Curtis, numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren and cousins, uncles Ron Piapot (Violet), Christopher Ironchild, Earl Kakakaway and aunt Alice Ironstar, special friends, Calvert Chief-Calf and Sharon Clark.

The family wishes to thank Pasqua Hospital Palliative Care Unit, the numerous friends and family for their prayers, encouragement and support

 Wake will be held Friday, June 21, 2019 at 4:00 p.m. in the Kahkewistahaw Complex, Kahkewistahaw First Nation. Funeral service will be held the following day on Saturday, June 22, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. in the same location.
