Our Mother was born on Kawacatoose First Nation, Saskatechan and raised by her Grandparents Charlie and Annie Favel. She was raised in the traditional ways by attending and going to ceremonies. Throughout her life she worked in many places in Band Administration (Kawacatoose), Native Liaison (Labret Residential School), and working in Oil and Gas Companies to Universities. She was the oldest out of 21 brothers and sisters who she loved dearly. Our Mom moved us to Calgary, AB back in 1984, where she made it her home. Our Mother was a social butterfly to anyone she met, whether it be at the “Grey Eagle bingo hall”, to her bank “Peace Hills Trust”. She even traveled to Kalispell, MT and brought back a case of pop for one of the ladies at her bank. Our Mom had so many adopted brothers and sisters throughout her life. That we grew up calling them Aunties and Uncles to this day. She was such a beautiful woman who was thoughtful, caring and a giving person and loved everyone. She had many friends and family throughout the powwow trail, who became her powwow family. Traveling and dancing was one of her passions, where she had placed throughout Canada and United States. To our moms her most important was being a Mother to us and especially a Grand Mother and Great Grand Mother. Who she cherished with everything in her heart. Our Mom would spoil them and always give them money or gifts when she could. Most of all she missed our late brother Charles (Chuck) very much. We know that our Mother was loved by many and will always be in our hearts.
