Barbara Joan Bitternose
April 2, 1954- October 29, 2020
On October 29, 2020, with her family by her side, our loving mother, kokum, sister, auntie and friend went home to be with the Lord.
Left with cherished memories are her husband Wilby (Hun), Daughters Eva (Mike) Metatawabin, Melody, Louise (David John), Kerry, Erin (John) her Son, Wayne and beloved cat, Rosie. Her precious gifts, 21 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Siblings, Irene (John) Walter, Herb (Freda) McNab, Gloria (Kaitram) Lalman. Numerous nieces, nephews and children that she cared for in her home.
To greet her in heaven are her parents, Hilliard and Doris McNab, siblings Ivan, Melvin, Phillip, Bernard, Joan and Edward McNab, two grandchildren and three great-children.
Barbara was born and raised on George Gordon Reserve and lived there her whole life. Her home was a haven to many children and a place where family gathered to visit. She had a way of making people feel welcome and a special energy that created peace and comfort. She touched many lives and her influence and spirit will remain in every one of those connections.
The family wishes to thank the staff and nurses at the Regina General Hospital and Pasqua Hospital Palliative Care and to all those who visited, sent messages and texts, your kindness and care will never be forgotten.
“I have fought the good fight. I have finished the race,
I have kept the faith.
Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness
which the Lord, the righteous Judge,
will award to me on that day – and not only to me,
but also to all who have longed for his appearing.”
2 Timothy 4:7-8
