Barbara Ann Keyser 

April 4, 1949 - July 21, 2025 

Barbara Keyser of Strasbourg, SK passed away on July 21, 2025 after a battle with cancer. 

Barbs early years were spent in Govan and Nokomis where she helped run herd over her four younger siblings. The stories are many and those hectic days were filled with chaos, laughter and tears. 

The family moved to Strasbourg in 1965 when her mom Emma Skogen became the first matron of the Last Mountain Pioneer Home. 

Barb met Charlie Keyser, fell in love, and were married in August of 1967. It was a bright time of togetherness, friends and family. 

In July of 1969 their family grew when their son Steven was born. He was a delightful, exuberant child who welcomed his sister DeLeigh in 1973. They were a busy, happy group with lots of extended family to keep things hopping. 

Barb always worked outside the home and eventually began working at the Pioneer Home that had drawn them to Strasbourg initially. There she was a favored caregiver to many residents. She had a tough time retiring because she didn't know how she would replace those experiences.  

Sadness enveloped her when Charlie passed unexpectedly in 2008. Life never looked the same. DeLeigh's passing in 2023 was a hurt that we wish she could have been spared. 

Barb lived reclusively in her final years and appreciated greatly the support she received from her son Steven and sister in law Colleen. 

Barb will be lovingly remembered by her son steven; brothers Barry (Jackie), Claude (Dawn); sisters Sandra (Neil), Donna (Neal); sister in law Colleen; as well as nieces, nephews and friends.
