Beatrice’s joy in life was watching her husband, sons, and grandchildren play sports, mainly volleyball, baseball and hockey.  Over the years, she cheered on the Ochapowace Power Chiefs, Ochapowace Thunder, Chetty’s Pretty Boys Ball Teams, Team Saskatchewan, and many others.  She loved watching the children and grandchildren play at FSIN Youth Treaties, Summer Games, and Winter Games and made trips to ball diamonds and hockey rinks anywhere. She was always game for a spontaneous trip.  Beatrice travelled to Edmonton, Vancouver, and Raleigh, North Carolina, to watch her grandson Ethan’s NHL games.

Beatrice loved family gatherings, meeting her siblings at Whitewood Can-Am for breakfast, and taking off on solo Vegas trips without notice. She loved Georgie Jones. She gave lots of love to everyone; she was so generous. She spent lots of time raising grandchildren and loved her animals, especially her dog Bubba. Beatrice lived life to the fullest.  She made friends everywhere.

Her husband, Denton, was a Chief of the Ochapowace Nation for 20 years, and she was always by his side at all the FSIN Assembly’s.  The family would like to thank the FSIN Chiefs and Executive for recognizing her value and keeping her included as an elder at meetings: she loved that. Chiefs Bobby Cameron, Vice-Chief David Pratt, her cousin, Vice-Chief Dutch Lerat, Vice-Chief Heather Bear, Chief Margaret Bear, and Chief Tammy Cook-Searson – Thank you for taking care of her.

Pallbearers were chosen because they had a special place in her heart: Tony Sparvier, Courage Bear, Dustin Bear, Everett Bear, Tabrey Still, and Brody Yuzicappi.

Honorary Pall Bearer - Ochapowace kēhtēyak.

The family would like to thank all those who visited her in the hospital for the calls, texts, and face times during her battle with illnesses. Also, thanks to the staff at Saskatoon St. Paul’s Hospital, Fort Qu’Appelle All Nations Hospital, Moosomin and Kipling Hospitals, and special thanks to the Ochapowace Home Care Staff for the genuine love and care they provided.

During this time, we thank the community members, leadership, family and friends for all your help.
