It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved Sister, mother, aunty, grandma/kokum.

She leaves to mourn her Children Russell, Iron Lance (Eya), Dawna-Lee (Aaron) Terrance (Domenique) Ricky (Danielle), William. Her Grandchildren: Sage, Kaidynz, Reigna, Inez, Tameya, Evanii, Cali-Dream, Hendrix, Erynn-Lee, Casper, Adelaide, Cyril, Ava, Riley. And her partner of many years Doug. She also leaves to mourn her siblings: Edna (Leo), Joseph (Carol), Lorraine, Lee (Cory), Charlene, Vicky, Chip, Emily, Karen, Sheila, Lewis, Patrick, Sisters- in-law Carol Lavallee and Darcia Kaysaywaysemat. Numerous Nieces and Nephews.

Benita was predeceased by her grandparents Emily and Victor; her parents Stanley and Sylvia; Son Nathaniel, Brother Ivan (infancy), Rusty, Phillip and sisters; Maxine, Joan, and Nephew; Paul.

Benita was loved and cherished by many, she always had great stories to share with her family members and loved to brag about her children and grandchildren. She loved to come home to Kahkewistahaw to spend time with her family and looked forward to the quality time she spent with her special nephews Sterling Crowe and her Sunday man Allister Crowe.

The traditional wake is being held on Wednesday November 15, 2023, at 4 pm in the Kahkewistahaw Complex, on Kahkewistahaw First Nation. Funeral Services will be held at the same location on Thursday November 16, 2023, with a traditional feast at 11 am followed by a service at 1pm.
