Benji Keewatin Obituary

Benji Theodore Keewatin

Kīsikaw-Pīsim (Day Sun)

November 21, 1972 - December 28, 2025

It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Benji Keewatin on December 28, 2025.

Benji was predeceased by his Moshom & Kokom Ted & Isabel Keewatin; his father Herman Caplette; mother Sharon Keewatin; brother Dale Keewatin; cousins Charlsey & Chereece Keewatin; nephew Latrell Keewatin; niece Brooke-Dawn Keewatin Desjarlais.

He is survived by his daughter Janea, brother Joseph (Joey); sisters Dee & Laura. Benji also has 2 grandchildren Athena & Ares that held a special place in his heart. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces & nephews.

Benji had a big heart; always opened up his home to his family & Friends, whenever they needed a place to stay. He was always kind & generous asking if you were ok, or if you needed anything.

Benji was very artistic. His daughter would ask him to draw her something & with a couple questions asked, in no time he would have it drawn up for her.

In high school, Benji led his team to the Provincial Basketball Playoffs & won the title with the winning shot. It was so much excitement for the team, school & the family. He walked away MVP.

A wake will be held on Friday, January 2, 2026, at 4pm at The Chief Thunderbird Hub on Peepeekisis First Nation. Funeral services will take place the following day, Saturday, January 3, 2026, at 11am in the same location.

Arrangements entrusted to Conley Funeral Home, Fort Qu'Appelle, SK.
