November 8, 1968 – February 27, 2023

Brian passed away suddenly but peacefully with his wife Lisa, children and family by his bedside at SICU General Hospital on Monday February 27, 2023 at 3:02 pm.

Brian was predeceased by his maternal grandparents Bessie and Fred Poorman Sr; paternal grandparents Thomas Dustyhorn Sr and Madeline Skeeboss; Brians father former chief Howard J. Dustyhorn; mother Agnes J. Dustyhorn; oldest sister Shirley Assoon; brothers Howie Dustyhorn, Dale Assoon; niece Lorenda J. Assoon; son Musqua Machiskinic.

Brian is survived by partner wife of 25 years Lisa Spencer, sons Kihew, Rhett (Shayla), Ashton; and his princess daughter Brianna.

Brian leaves to mourn his sisters Vivian (Harry),Gail, Shiela (Ernest) and brother Garry (Jen); special granddaughter Ronni and special grandson Emhyris, special nephew godson Garreth, his hunting partner; his 3 special uncles Bud, Dennis, and Wayne Dustyhorn, many nieces, nephews, cousins, uncles, aunts; and extended work family whom he grew close with at the BHP Jansen Potash mine; many friends and relatives he deeply cherished and cared for. We would also like to thank the staff on SICU for taking care of Brian and keeping him comfortable and to a special nurse Bre on SICU.

Brian was the most gentlest, kindest, loving man. He enjoyed singing Pow-Wow, going to round dances, helping out others whenever he could. He had a big heart, loved animals and babies. He loved spending time outdoors going for walks with his family, loved hunting, and going for drives. He was a proud Montreal Canadians fan all his life. Most of all he loved his children very much, he did everything for them.

Wake will be held Friday, March 3, 2023 at 4 pm in the Asiniw-Kisik Education Complex, Kawacatoose First Nation. Funeral Service will be held the following day, Saturday, March 4, 2023 at 11 AM in the same location. He will laid to rest in the South East Cemetery, Kawacatoose First Nation.
