Suddenly, in the early morning hours of November 9, Creator took her hand and led her home. Chantelle is welcomed by her mother, grandparents and other relatives. She leaves to carry her memory, her children Mackenzie “Chooch” Large, Alexi Large, Peyasu Large and their father James, and her youngest daughter Seinna Shot Both Sides and her father Cameron. She also leaves her father, Wilfred Bitternose, sisters Eva (Mike) Metatawabin, Melody Bitternose, Louise Bitternose, Kerry Bitternose, Erin (John) Bitternose, brother, Wilfred Wayne Bitternose as well as numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Chantelle grew up on George Gordon First Nation and lived her adult years in Alberta before coming back to Saskatchewan and settling in Regina. She committed her life to raising her children and caring for her daughter Mackenzie providing the responsibility, medical care and necessities for her to live at home with her family. Chantelle’s home was always a welcoming place for friends and family to gather. She was known for her good cooking and always had a good heart and showed generosity to all in her life. Chantelle’s family was recently expanded to include her grandson Pisim, and she was a proud Kookum.
Wake will be held on Monday, November 13, 2023, at 5 pm in the Old Gym, George Gordon First Nation Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, November 14, 2023 at 11 am in the same location. Internment at St. Luke’s Cemetery.
Our beloved sister, daughter, niece and friend, you will be missed. Until we meet again, watch over us.
