It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved father, brother, uncle, grandfather and great grandfather Conrad James Tawiyaka Sr. February 23, 1965 - January 21, 2023. His traditional names were, Śunk-Toh-Cha Ska Nagi WićasTa - White Wolf Spirit Man. Also, Mateo OheTica Mani WecHasTa - Strong Bear Walking Man. Conrad was a loved and respected leader in his family, to many in his community, also, in and around the Fastball/Hockey circle. He loved his culture, traveling, playing sports and enjoyed a bit of gambling. Conrad Sr. is predeceased by his parents, Marjorie and John (Jeff) Tawiyaka; his son Conrad John James Tawiyaka; his grandson Keegan John James Tawiyaka; sisters Deborah, Margaret, Rose, Inez and Tina; brother’s Sidney and John Jr; He is survived by his son Darren Tawiyaka (Melissa); son Conrad Tawiyaka Jr; daughter Lacey Tawiyaka (Jordi); daughter Zaedea Tawiyaka (Tyler); son Konrad Tawiyaka. Grandchildren Kaylee and Kaleb Lavallee; Sincere Tawiyaka-Obey; Jayvin Starblanket (Aleshia); Drayson and Paisley Fourhorns; Isabelle, Gemila and Zennyla Tawiyaka; Haizley Thomson; Great grandchild Roman Starblanket; surviving siblings Ralph, Lisa, Bryce and Eddy; Adopted mother Irene. As well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A Wake will be held on Thursday, January 26, 2023,at 4 pm in the Tatanka Najin School on Standing Buffalo Dakota Nation. Funeral service will take place the following morning, Friday, January 27, 2023 at 11 am in the same location
