Debbie Marie Keewatin
April 10, 1961 – April 16, 2025
It is with great sadness the family announces the sudden passing of Debbie Keewatin. Debbie passed at her home, on April 16, 2025, on Little Black Bear First Nation at the age of 64.
Those who welcome her into the spirit world are her loving husband Jake Akapew; children Devin, Aaron, and Natasha; grandsons Jarod Nanapay and Devin Bellegarde Jr.; parents Reginald and Edna Keewatin, and Shirley Akapew; sister Francis Fontaine; and brothers Eddie, Arnold, Jackie, Steve, and Wesley Keewatin.
Left to honor her memory are her children Wesley (Ashley), Jay (Alana), Jerry, Ashley (Devin), Danica (Tyler), and Brad Wesequate. Also mourning her loss are her brothers Murray Keewatin (daughter Kelly Horsefall), Kevin Starr, and Farron Akapew; and her sisters Deanna Keewatin, Patricia (Russell) Starr, Denise McNab, Delia (Jonas) Akapew, Diane (Darnel) Akapew, Arlene (Kevin) Starr, and Cheryl Akapew.
Debbie will be dearly missed by her grandchildren Devin, Karley, Kayne, Aryn, Mariah, Jordin, Shane, Mikayla, Cameron, Kylie, Tyson, Draydin, Kara, and Shylah; her great-grandchildren Laura, Bryson, Caileigh, and Casey; special auntsRuth Keewatin, Elsie Kinequan and Doris Starr; special friends Christine Akapew and Shelley Walker. Debbie had a special love for each of her nieces and nephews, whom will all cherish her memory.
Wake will take place on Monday, April 21, 2025, at 4pm in the Community Center on Little Black Bear First Nation. Funeral services will be held on the following day, Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at 11am in the same location.
