Douglas Howard Moise 

November 16, 1947 - June 13, 2026

Douglas was called home by the Creator on Saturday, June 13, 2026 at the age of 78. 

He was predeceased by his parents Joseph and Philomene Moise; Mother of his children Marjorie Papequash; daughter Laurie; special partner Mary Jane Straightnose; siblings Alexandria Crowe, Henry Moise, Myrtle Crowe, Joseph Moise Jr, Elanor Moise, Shirley Anne Moise.

Douglas is survived by his sisters Pauline Moise, Marlene Moise-Hansen; his children Keith Papequash (Kariah), Kevin Ken Papequash (Michelle), Maxine Papequash (Brad), Wilbert Papequash (Melanie), Bridget Papequash; special son Stewart Keshane; special mention to Vera Ann Wolfe, Terri-Lynn Moise; and many grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends too numerous to mention. 

Douglas was born in Lestock hospital and attended Muskowekwan residential school. While at the school, Doug not only went to class, but was also expected to do daily chores. He said " I really enjoyed the sports offered at the school." He learned to play hockey and basketball. 

When Doug was seventeen he left to live in the Kamsack area and returned home at age sixty. Upon his return he helped care for his mother for eight years. Doug said some of his fondest memories are when people took time out to visit each other and enjoy Sundays together. His advice to the children is to live a healthy lifestyle and be alcohol and drug free, be active, work hard, help others, lead by good example and listen to your parents. 

Wake will be held Thursday, June 18, 2026 at 4 pm in the Lestock Town Hall, Lestock, SK. Funeral Service will be held Friday, June 19, 2026 at 11 am in the same location.
