August 2, 1954 – August 21, 2024

It is with great sadness that the family of Marie Elaine Cyr (Elaine/Tootsie/Shorty) announce her journey into the spirit world on August 21, 2024. Elaine was born August 2, 1954 in Lestock, SK and resided on George Gordon First Nation for most of her life. Elaine was predeceased by her grandparents: Joe and Clara Cyr, Peter and Helen Hunter; partner: Joe Longman; Mother: Louise Cyr; Father: Clifford Hunter; Sisters: Janice Bitternose, Kathy Dustyhorn (Pratt), Diane Cyr, Sheila Cyr; Brothers: Ian Cyr, Clifford (Sonny) Cyr, Darrell (Dillo) Cyr, Leon (Spinx) Cyr, Darwin (Hawk) Cyr; Mike Hunter, Clifton Hunter, Allen Hunter; Son: Joel Cyr; Grandchildren: Misty Cyr and Martin Wolfe; Great-grandson: Joseph Cyr.

Left to cherish her memory are daughters: Monica, Sherrie and Tanya; siblings: Lyn Cyr, Richard (Tracy) Cyr, Eleanor (Trevor) Cyr, Karen (Darren) Cyr McNab, Barb Cyr, Debbie Cyr, Choppy (Peter) Hunter, Slim (Delbert) Hunter, Dayle Hunter, Bubba (Edward) Hunter, Blackie (Clifford) Hunter, Tata (Loretta) Hunter, Vern Hunter, Sheldon McNab, Oscar (Clifford) McNab, Rae-Anne McNab, LouEllen, Janice Hunter/Moise, Helen Hunter/Moise. 18 Grandchildren, who were all very special to her and 14 Great-grandchildren: Special niece and nephew, Darlyn and Michael, whom she helped raise. Auntie Cecile Asham (Cyr), numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The family would like to thank Wynyard Hospital, Conley Funeral Home, George Gordon First Nation and all who helped the family with Elaine’s celebration of life and final journey. Sincerest apologies if any names have been missed. God Bless.
