March 27, 1953 - January 14, 2024


It is with heavy heart we announce the passing of our dear Mother, Kokum Toto, sister, aunt and friend. With her family by her side, she has made her journey to the Spirit World.

Her journey on Mother Earth is done and it was one of heartache, happiness, sadness, laughter, learning, caring and loving. In the past fifteen years of her life, she had made Change. She always said,” If I can change, so can you.” She believed in the 7 Sacred Teachings. She said, Live your life to the fullest and enjoy what each day has to offer as it is a learning experience. Her Spiritual Journey has begun on the other side and she has joined all those that have went on before her.

Predeceased by her maternal grandparents, Basil and Marion Buffalo; Paternal grandparents, Jim and Margaret Kinequon; aunts Joan Pratt, Lillian Bratushesky, Mary Anderson, Maggie Buffalo, Jean Desjarlais and Doris Buffalo; uncles Peter Pratt, Jimmy Buffalo, Ron Buffalo, Walter Bratushesky, Oliver Anderson, Morris Kinequon, Tony Kinequon, Stuart Kinequon and Wilfred Pratt; father Smith Kinequon; mother Joan Buffalo; mother-in-law Betty Favel; husband Blaine R Pratt; daughter Angela Twist; son Orval Twist; sisters Linda Kinequon, Judy Geddes, Shelly Buffalo and Sheila Kinequon; brothers-in-law, Chief John McNab, Ken Pratt, Duane Favel, Charlie Favel and Bill Spence.

She is survived by her daughter Laverna (Adam) Sack, Jennifer (Max) Longman, Robin Pratt, Lesley Pratt and Celeste Kay; son Blaine Sheldon; brothers-in-law Glen Geddes and Marvin Pratt; sisters Karen (Dave) Bird, Rhonda (George) Bird, Arlene, Vivian (Derek), Rita Pratt (Herman Blind), Cathy Spence, Elaine Kinequon, Rita Kinequon, Debbie Kinequon and Lynn Kayseas; brothers, Richard Buffalo, Clayton (Loretta) Buffalo, Eugene Buffalo, Vince Kayseas, Patrick Kinequon, Andy Kinequon, Ken Kinequon, Herby Kinequon and Rodney Kinequon; Aunt Nancy Buffalo, Aunt Myra Oudyk and Aunt Carol McMurdo. Special cousins, Sharon (Kirby) Windigo, Lester (Glenna) Buffalo and Brenda Arnold. Special friends Cheryl Favel, Olive Blind and Kris Blind.

She adored her grandchildren, held them close to her heart and prayed for them all the time, no matter the road they chose to walk; her special grandson Jazz, Bebe Grayson, Kelsey Twist (aka Kelloggs), Arielle Twist, Calen Sack, Sharlie Pratt, Mariah Longman, Summer Longman, Autumn Longman, Landon Pratt, Tiarah Pratt-Mcnab, Ethienah Longman, Jayron Longman, Leyton Longman aka (Kenny), Amiah Pratt, Eric Pratt, Melissa Morin, Vanessa Morin, Jolene Kay, Chelsea Kay, Shaunna Longman, and Kaitlyn Longman. Great grandchildren, far and near, whom she adored and were the little loves of her life; Chloe Twist, Leyna twist, Charles Pratt-Cyr, Raiden Pratt-Cyr, Kendall Alexson, Braelynn Oochoo, Blayne Oochoo, Emari Grey, Anze Raphael, Brax’on Herrington-Pratt, & Jaevontae Longman.

There are many cousins, nieces and nephews and she loved you all dearly. She will be missed by many but she always said, we’ll all meet someday on the other side, we were put on Mother Earth for a short time to learn, love, teach and grow.

In the past few years, she adored the staff at the George Gordon Health and Wellness Centre. She was honored to have worked with them and very proud that they are recognized by achieving the Awards of Accreditation.

The family expresses their sincere gratitude to the GGFN Nursing staff that tended to her needs. She was so proud of them for their professionalism and caring hearts. The nurses and Dr’s at Wynyard Hospital for their helping & caring hands with mom. Special thanks to Elden and his staff, Conley Funeral Home.

Wake will be held Wednesday, January 17, 2024 at 4 pm in the Old Gym, George Gordon First Nation, SK. Funeral Service will be held Thursday, January 18, 2024 at 1 pm in the same location.
