Ernest August Wulff

It is with profound sadness yet gratitude for a life well lived that the family announce the death of Ernest August Wulff. Ernie passed away in the early hours of August 3, 2020 at the Silver Heights special care home in Raymore, SK. Ernie was the youngest child of Barbara and Paul Wulff. Ernie was born on October 12, 1932, attended Raymore school and later became a fulltime farmer.
While farming was Ernie's vocation, he had many other passions. He grew a bountiful garden and his flowers, especially his gladioli, were second to none. Many family and friends enjoyed beautiful boquets of flowers and delicious vegetables thanks to his "green thumb". He also found great pleasure in feeding and watching all the various birds that he became an expert at attracting to his bird feeders. The Blue Jay baseball games and curling were a great source of pleasure when farming no longer occupied as much of his time. He was a good cook and could make up a mouth watering batch of cabbage rolls.
Ernie enjoyed teasing his nieces and nephews but they always knew that along with the teasing there would be a large bag of candy for all to share. They, in turn, would always try to sneak a touch to his ever present moustache. He delighted in family gatherings and loved sharing political views, a good knee-slapping joke, and a "wee nip" now and then.
Ernie is survived by brother Henry Wulff; nieces Shirley (Skip) Duford, Glenda (Leon) Jacobs, Jennifer (Dennis) Stanley; nephews Verne (Rita) Thoner, Lyle Thoner, Garth (Denise) Thoner, Darryl (Joy) Bowman as well as numerous great nieces and nephews
Ernie was predeceased by his parents Paul and Barbara Wulff; siblings Hilda Bowman, Erna Thoner, Chris Wulff; brothers in law Victor Bowman, Elmer Thoner; sisters in law Joyce Wulff; niece in law Debbie Thoner .
The family wishes to thank all the staff of the Silver Heights Special Care Home for the excellent care Ernie recieved. Uncle Ernie always greeted us with a " Hello Kid ! " no matter how old we got and goodbye was always " Auf Wiedersehen ! " .
So now Uncle Ernie we say " Auf Wiedersehen ! " to you - till we all meet again !
A Graveside Memorial Service for Ernie will take place Saturday, August 8, 2020 at 2 pm in the Quinton Lutheran cemetery, Quinton, SK. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations in Ernie's memory be made to Silver Heights Special Care Home or Quinton Lutheran Cemetery.
