Gerhardt (Harold) Pregizer

February 2, 1934 ~ April 30, 2022 (age 88)

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Gerhardt (Harold) Pregizer on April 30, 2022 at Echo Lodge in Fort Qu’Appelle, SK at the age of 88 years.

Harold was born on the family farm northeast of Lipton. He lived on the home quarter for many years before moving into town, after which he continued making daily trips out to the farm to work. Alongside his brother Ernest, they ran a cattle and grain operation until they both retired together and rented out the land. Harold still kept a very active interest in the farm after retirement and loved being out on the land to help in spring and in fall but he especially liked the harvest season. Harold could be seen helping with the auger or driving the grain truck; whatever back-up job needed doing, he was there to help, right up to and including last year’s harvest.

He was predeceased by his parents Sophie and Karl Pregizer, brothers Henry, Paul and Ernest, sister’s-in-law Marga, Sonia and Marie, and nephews Dale Pregizer and Wally Pregizer. Harold is survived by his brother Rudolph (Edna) Pregizer and sister Gertrude Schmidt, both of Regina, as well as many nieces and nephews.

A viewing will be held at Conley Funeral Home, 266 Boundary Avenue North, Fort Qu’Appelle on Saturday, May 7, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. with a graveside burial following at 1:00 p.m. at the Lipton Memorial Gardens.
