Janice (Moroz) Klisowsky Obituary

Janice Linda (Moroz) Klisowsky

May 5, 1954 - October 2, 2025

Janice Linda (Moroz) Klisowsky, a.k.a Genika, was born on May 5, 1954 to Mike and Nellie Moroz. Janice lived on the family farm and attended school in Wischart. Janice met Brian Klisowsky and in 1972 the two were married and began a family. The couple moved to Regina for a few years and then returned to Leross area in 1979. It was in this time that Janice began her career as a SCA at the Lestock hospital. Janice often said the job was hard but so rewarding. Janice always shared how she appreciated the people she met along the way. The family moved to Dysart in the fall of 1987. Janice continued to work in Lestock until she got a position at the Cupar Nursing Home. Jancie spent 35 years in the health care profession as a housekeeper and SCA. Retirement did not slow Jancie down. In these years, Janice was able to take her passions and share them with her community. Jancie’s love of cooking sparked the idea for What the Hall - a place where the community could grab a coffee or dinner. As the popularity grew, Janice even hosted holiday supper events. What the Hall was also a place where people could enjoy Janice’s collection of refinished furniture, refurbished by her and her friend Karen, or seek out other collectibles and antiques. Janice delighted in the finer things. Her eclectic eye finding beauty in unexpected places. Janice loved her time with her family, filling the house with laughter, lively debates, and the joyful noise of togetherness. Each family gathering meant fierce card game competitions; after a big meal, her girls would gather for many rounds of her favourite game of Nerds.

Janice is survived by her husband, Brian, children Blou and Stacey (Schindel) Shawn and Melissa ( Pike), Chad and Kelly(Van Luven), Cortney and Curtis (Olsen) and Nick Klisowsky; grandchildren, Taylor (Karigan), Mieko (Vanessa), Jared, Kalib, Taryn (Zac), Ben, Josh, Carnell, Karyss, Emerson, Kaell, Brock, Kalenna, Canden, and Lyrik; great grandchildren, Breia and Elliot; Siblings, Zoria and Bernie (Broughton), Cres and Rob (Heggie), and Leonard and Donna (Moroz); as well many nieces and nephews. Janice was predeceased by son, Nathen Klisowsky, parents, Mike and Nellie Moroz, and Phillip and Carrie Klisowsky, and brother, Melvin Moroz.

A celebration of life held Saturday, October 11, 2025, at 2pm in the Dysart Community Center, Dysart, Sask.
