On Sunday, January 14, 2024 our beloved mother, Jean McKenna, wife of the late Brian McKenna passed away at the age of 92 in Fort Qu'Appelle, SK.

Jean was predeceased by her parents Reynolds (1972) and Ada McCubbin (1997); husband Brian (2014); sister Amy Creese (2023); brother William McCubbin (2018); and sister Mabel McNaughton (2022).

Jean is survived by her two sons, Bruce (Elaine) McKenna, Michael McKenna and one daughter Shelley (Clem) Hogue; grandchildren; great grandchildren; sister Isabel Wignall of Lindsay, Ontario; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Jean was born on a farm north of Lipton, SK in the Hayward District. Her career spanned decades of employment as a front-line medical receptionist and support worker for Doctors Jachak and Singh.

She was a very social person who enjoyed the company of her many friends and most recently her beloved bridge group.

Jean took great pride in her home on Broadway Street built by her husband Brian. She had a beautiful yard and garden that she worked in meticulously. The yard became a haven for her beloved birds. She also enjoyed competing in various sports including her favorites golf and curling.

Jean was well known in the community as an organizer; continuously giving back to her community through volunteer work with local agencies such as the Anglican Church Womens Group, Meals on Wheels, the Visitors Center as well as canvassing for numerous charities .

A graveside service will be held in the Lakeview Cemetery, Fort Qu'Appelle, SK, to be announced in spring 2024.

A time of fellowship and refreshments will follow in St. Johns Anglican Church Parish Hall, Fort Qu'Appelle.
