April 14, 1993 – March 24, 2022

With sadness the family announce the unexpected death of Johnathon Henry Noel Matonie, loving son, uncle, brother, nephew, grandson who was called home by the Creator on March 24, 2022 surrounded by the love of his family. John is predeceased by grandfather Albert Pauchay; grandmother Katie Pauchay, grandparents Noel Kahnapace and within 24 hours, grandmother Rose Mae.

John is survived by his parents Cynthia Malonie and Sheldon Smoke; sisters Linna Matonie , Kylie Seven Waters, Shawna Blacksioux; grandmother Nora Smoke ; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Wake will be held Sunday, March 27, 2022 at 4 pm in the Chief Ben Paskwa Hall, Pasqua First Nation. Interment in Ashams Beach Cemetery, Pasqua First Nation.

** Please note the wake and service will be held concurrently with John's grandmother, Rose Mae Kahnapace**
