Joseph Arthur Ahdemar
October 6, 1961 - February 8, 2026
oe Ahdemar of Lipton, Saskatchewan, passed away on February 8th, 2026 at the age of 64.as known for his kind heart, his unwavering work ethic, and the deep love he carried for his family. He lived his life with quiet strength and generosity, always willing to lend a hand.
Joseph was a descendant of Tatananajin (or Standing Buffalo) He was the son of Joseph William Thomas Adhemar born March 23, 1925 and Elizabeth Bessie Ryder (mother). Joseph William Thomas Adhemar was the son of John Adhemar and Katie Road (Poordog) marriage certificate September 20, 1911. Kate Poordog was daughter of Emma Chunchootiyamani, who in turn was the daughter of Tatananajin or Standing Buffalo.
Joe is predeceased by his father William T. Ahdemar; mother Elizabeth Ahdemar; brother Gary Ahdemar; wife Mary Landry; granddaughter Chloe Blair; and nieces Gwen Obey and Melanie Obey.
Joe is survived by his daughter Allyson Blair(Rick Blair); and grandchildren Richard, Viola, Gary and Zoey; brothers Greg, Gord, and Charlie Ahdemar (Sherry Obey).
Joe cherished his many nieces and nephews, each of whom held a special place in his heart. These include Dalton Obey, Conrad Obey, Jasmine Obey, Mckenzie Ahdemar, Dylan Obey, Thunder Tawiyaka, Storm Tawiyaka, Sherilynn Obey, Mia Tawiyaka, Kirk Jr Tawiyaka, Greg Moostoos & family who will continue to honor his memory.
the family extends a heartfelt thank-you to the Allan Blair Cancer Center, All nations Healing Hospital, Regina General Hospital, Standing Buffalo Dakota Nation, The community of Lipton, The Qu'Appelle Valley Friendship Center, and the local RCMP Detachment for their care and support during Joe's journey.
Wake will be held Friday, February 13, 2026 at 4 pm in the Old Daycare, Standing Buffalo Dakota Nation, SK.
Funeral Service will be held Saturday, February 14, 2026 at 11 am in the same location.
