It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Judy (Jay) Ann Appell – Sister, Mother, Kokum, Auntie, Cousin, Friend. Judy left for the Spirit World on Thursday, May 8, 2025 at the age of 71 years.

Judy is predeceased by mother Mary Anne (Dora) Creeley, father Alvin (Chappy) Stonechild, Mushoom Leonard Creeley, Kokum Lily (Buffalo Bow) Creeley, Aunt Gertie Creeley, brother Bruce Creeley in infancy, Sister Virginia Creeley, Daughter Melody (Spruit), loving partner Alvin Ratt.

Judy leaves to mourn sisters Margaret Gordon, Lynda Creeley, Elizabeth (Lily) Creeley (Ty), Lisa Amy (Bill), Theresa Quewezance, Gloria Stonechild; daughter Candy, son Michael; brothers Hawk Stonechild, Murray Stonechild; Nieces Kimberley Dubois (Lance), Delia Dubois (Sean), Cheryl Gabrielle, Nina Gabrielle, Amber Ly (Tyler), Tanya , Ashley Amy, Alisha Amy; Nephews Delaine Dubois (Kassidy), Howard Creeley (Lori), Cory Gabrielle (Melinda), Terrell Creeley, Brandon Ly (Anya), Tyson Creeley, Cody Amy; as well as many grandchildren, great grandchildren and extended family and friends too numerous to mention. Special thanks to the Staff of Balcarres Integrated Care Center for the compassionate care Judy received. 

Wake will be held Monday, May 12, 2025 at 4 pm in the Okanese Learning Center Gym, Okanese First Nation. Funeral Service will be held Tuesday May 13, 2025 at 11 am in the same location.
