It is with great sadness and sorrow the family announces the unexpected passing of Justin (Gusto).

Predeceased by his Mother Henrietta Rose (Honey) Bear, Maternal Grandparents: World War II Veteran Henry (Chi Chay) and Madeline Bear: Paternal Grandparents: Korean War Veteran Antoine (Tony) “Mahkwa” and Sadie Cote, (Cote First Nation) Uncles: Peter Bear (In infancy) Joseph ‘Rusty’ Taypotat, Byron Hicks and RCMP Veteran Laurie Cote, (Cote First Nation), Auntie Bonnie Bear, Cousins: Dallas Cote (Cote First Nation) Naomi (Penel) Rose Isaac, Nieces Katelynn McKay and Emarie Bear.

Forever missed by his Father Johnny Rae Cote, (Cote First Nation), His beautiful children: Justin Bear Jr., Elijah and Ellyonna Kinistino, Adopted children: Ronnie and Thalia Fayant. Siblings: Jazmine Smith-Gladue, Julie Marie Cote, Joey Lerat, Johnny Rae Ketchemonia, Uncles: Dennis (Sharyn) Bear, Joseph (Louise)Bear, Robert ‘Robbie’ Cote (Cote First Nation), Aunties: Linda (Freddy) Acoose, Margaret Bear, Lucille Bear, Mavis Bear, Mary Ann Bear, Loretta Bear, Beverley (James) Whitehawk, Denise Cote, Faye Cote, Joan Cote. (Cote First Nation) Numerous cousins, relatives and dear friends Matthew Stevenson (Cowessess First Nation) and Tim George (Ochapowace First Nation).

A wake and celebration of life will start on Thursday April 18th, 2024, at 4:00pm at the Chief Denton George Memorial Complex on the Ochapowace First Nation. A feast will take place on Friday April 19th, 2024, at 11:00am with funeral service to follow at 1:00pm. Interment at Kahkewistahaw First Nation to follow.
