It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Karl George Kattler on Wednesday April 14, 2021 in the Indian Head and District Hospital at the age of 91.
Born to Herman and Katherine Kattler on the farm at Indian Head on April 12, 1930. He was the 5th in the family of 14 children.
Predeceased by his parents, brothers- Alex, Lawrence, and Ronald, sisters- Gertie, Minnie, Barbara, Mary, Charlotte, Charmaine, Elsie, and Evy, in-laws Joe, Alex, Raymond, Allan, Nick, Ivan, and Victor, and his goddaughter Roberta Laskey.
Survived by two sisters and caregivers, Alice and Cathy, sisters-in-law Joyce, Irene, and Elsie, brothers-in-law George K, George W, Regis, and Gordon as well and many nieces and nephews.
Karl's life was filled with the love of farming, family, friends, and dancing in his younger years. He lived on the farm with his parents until their passing in 1970. He continued to live there with Alex, then moved into Indian Head, where he lived for 37 years, but continued to farm.
Somehow he found time to be on the board of Golden Prairie Home for 13 ½ years which he thoroughly enjoyed. He also was a councilor for the R.M. For 31 years.
His health deteriorated over many years, taking many trips to Regina for specialist appointments, and continued to stay positive. Karl will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Memorial donations may be made in Karl's name to the Indian Head and District Hospital Foundation Inc. or the Golden Prairie Lodge.
Arrangements entrusted to Conley Funeral Home, Fort Qu'Appelle SK. 306-332-0555.
