Henfrey, Dora “Kathleen” Henfrey formally of Bulyea Sask passed away January 12, 2023 at the age of 93 at Strasbourg Sask.
Predeceased by her husband Sam (1996), parents Arthur and Laura (Kell) Walker, brothers Charles (Helen), Gordon (Blanche), Ken (Dolly) Douglas. Granddaughter -in-law Pam.
She is survived by daughter Lee (Art) Wolf, son Garnet ( Jennett ). Grandsons Laine (Sherry) , Bradley (Susannah), Chris (Kass), Jonathan (Brittany). Great Grandchildren Liam, Sophia, Laithan and Evelyn, sister Marjorie (Dave) Wood. Special friends and neighbours Debbie and Art Frischke, nieces, nephews and friends.
Kathleen was born December 14, 1929 at Earl Grey Sask, at that time Walker family lived north of Bulyea. Later they would move to Regina where Kathleen finished her high school at Scott Collegiate and started a job with Sask telephones. In 1953 she married Sam Henfrey and moved to the Henfrey farm at Bulyea. She was kept busy growing a large garden, putting up preserves, raising chickens and eggs to sell. She enjoyed doing embroidery and ceramics. She was also a Regal card and gift representative for many years. In 1996 Sam passed away and in 1997 Kathleen moved into her home in Bulyea. She loved doing jigsaw puzzles, watching the young and the restless! She kept the Homecare staff up to speed on Victor’s latest deeds! She enjoyed cheering on the Blue Jays, watching curling and a good cup of tea! She enjoyed vacations to the Maritimes and Churchill.
In 2020 Kathleen moved to the centennial manor in Strasbourg.
In May 2022 she moved to the Strasbourg Last Mountain Home.
Funeral service will be held at Norrona Lutheran Church, Bulyea Sask on January 17, 2023 at 2 pm, followed by luncheon at the Bulyea community hall.
The family would like to thank the staff of Homecare for the many years they took care of Kathleen in her home. Also to the wonderful caring and compassionate staff of the Last Mountain Pioneer Home.
