It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Kenneth Franklin Akapew, born March 9, 1944. Ken started his journey on February 16, 2025.

Ken is survived by his sons Trevor (Adrienne) & Cory; grandchildren Treyvon, Catherine (Max), Evan, Hunter, Angeina, Darren, Katrina and Phoenix; 7 grandchildren; sisters Elsie, Doris & Ruth; brother Sidney; as well as numerous nieces & nephews that will all cherish his memory.

He is predeceased by his parents Robert & Alma Akapew; sons Darren, Delbert & Kenneth "Kilo"; sisters Katherine, Shirley & Margaret; brothers Robert, William, Gilbert & Campbell Swanson.

Wake will be held on Thursday, February 20, 2025, at 4pm in the Little Black Bear Community Hall on Little Black Bear First Nation. Funeral services will take place the following day, Friday, February 21, 2025, at 11am in the same location.
