Kevin Harry George Missens

“Osāwi-muskosīy” (Yellow Grass), Pasqua First Nation. 

April 25, 1961 – September 29, 2021.

 

On September 29, 2021 Kevin Harry George Missens “ Osāwi-maskosīy; Yellowgrass”  made his journey to the spirit world.  Kevin was predeceased by his paternal grandparents Vincent and Margaret Missens (Fiddler), Step-grandfather John (Jake) Mckay; Maternal grandparents George and Eliza (Ball) Obey, Parents George and Evelyn (Obey) Missens, brother Darren Missens.

                Kevin was survived by his loving wife Brenda and their Children; Cory (Char), Crystal, Shelly (Dano), Scott (Sheryl), Claudine (Sheldon), Travis (Jodie), Jennifer, Holly (Isadore), Laramie, Keltin (Dakota), Adopted Daughter Krystal (Chrystar), and 28 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. Siblings; Sharon (Reg), Darcy (Doris), Hilda, Trudy, and Eddie. Aunties; Shirley, Diane, Sylvia, Yvonne, Uncle Pat McKay, Irvin Watson and family of Rocky Boy Montana, and Relatives of Mandaree, North Dakota. Special cousins; Shelley (Russ), Bev (Ron) and Daryl (Barb).

                Kevin worked in the Human Justice field for many years beginning with RCMP and continued on to become a Court Worker with FHQ Tribal Council.  During his time at FHQ he took pride in working as head security for Treaty 4. 

                Kevin was an avid Golfer, coached minor Hockey and Fastball.  He enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren’s games.  He was also a longtime season ticket holder for the Saskatchewan Roughriders.

                Special Thank you to Pasqua Chief and Council, all the nursing staff at Paskow Muskwa Healing Centre. 

       A Traditional Wake will be held Monday October 4th, 2021 beginning at 4:00p.m. in the Chief Ben Pasqua Memorial Hall, Pasqua First Nation.  Traditional Funeral Service will be held the following day, Tuesday October 5th 2021 at 10:00 am, in the same location. Burial to follow in the Piapots First Nations Cemetery.
