With great sadness we announce that Kevin Ryder (Tate Waci Wicasta – Dancing Wind) was called home on August 5, 2024, at the age of 52.

Kevin is predeceased by his mother and father Barbara and Herbert Ryder; Grandparents Joseph and Elizabeth Ryder, Paul and Georgina LaSwisse; Brothers Melvin, Michael, Herbert, Steven and Daniel Ryder; Sisters Janice and Sandra Ryder; Uncles Dave, Larry and Raymond LaSwisse; Aunties Mona, Karen, Anita and Gloria LaSwisse; Uncles Archie and Clarence Ryder; Aunties Florence and Angeline Ryder and Bessie Adhemar. Left to mourn are sisters Gloria Moostoos, Brenda Mercer and Anita Ryder as well as brothers Wallace Russum and Barry Ryder.

Kevin was friendly, kind and quiet, yet he loved his music and was often seen wearing his headphones. He loved animals and he had several dogs throughout his life and he always treated them very well. He was very generous and often opened his home to those in need. Kevin had a very big heart, was very loved and will be missed by many, including numerous relatives and friends in the community.

A Wake will take place at 4:00 pm on Tuesday, August 13, 2024, on Standing Buffalo First Nation at the old daycare. Funeral services will take place the following morning, Wednesday, August 14, in the same location at 10:00 am.
