FISHER, Lillian Marie Alice (nee Poitras) born September 13, 1924 in Lebret, SK. died September 9, 2023 at the age of 98 years in Fort Qu’Appelle, SK. Left to cherish her memory, Children: Janette (Clint) Heath, Gregory (Marlis Hansen), Michael (Rhonda), Agnes (Joe) Pelland, Richard (Lori Mohr), Lucille (Vincent Murray), John (Michelle Gleim); sister Margaret Jarrett; sisters-in-law Velma Alary and Lynn Poitras; cherished grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her husband of 61 years, Armand; sons Lloyd and Patrick; daughter Margaret; grand-son Lawrence Blue; grand daughters Kelsey Murray, Amber Pringle; parents Gregoire and Celina Poitras; sisters Liz Parenteau, Agnes Pelletier, Lucy Stonechild and Marie Hanson, brothers Joseph, Frederick, Jim, Rene and Roy, and daughter-in-law Priscilla Bird. Lillian was a proud Métis woman, her Bullets and Bangs and Matrimonial Cake were next to none. Lillian welcomed many friends and family into her home with a smile. You would often find visitors stopped in for tea, a chat and always a laugh. She was truly a beautiful person inside and out which was proved by the many people who gravitated to her. The love for sewing and singing were two of her passions and it was not unusual to hear her belting out a tune. Mom’s focus in her life was always her family and we created many loving and treasured memories throughout our years together. We wish to extend a special thank you to the care givers at Echo Lodge Nursing Home for taking care of Cocum Lily.

MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be held at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, Lebret, SK on Wednesday, September 13, 2023 at 11:30 a.m. Refreshments to follow in the church basement. Those wishing to make donations in Lillian’s memory may be made to the Echo Lodge Recreation Department, Box 1790, Fort Qu'Appelle, SK. S0G 1S0. Of all Lillian’s gifts we will miss her beautiful spirit the most. Mom, your wish has come true, you now have the wings of an angel and you can fly to the arms of your darling.
