Linda Kaysaywaysemat started her spiritual journey, Wednesday August 7, 2024 on Kahkewistahaw First Nation with her daughters by her side.

 

Linda is survived by her children Shirley, Darcia, Guy (Tracy), Dwayne (Jamie), Tammy and grandson Joe (Angel) Turner, bother Brian Standingready and sisters Eunice, Audrey, Molly (Eugene), Noreen, Florence, Kathleen (sister-in-law).

 

She is predeceased by her father Lawrence, mother Janet (nee Alexson) Doyle (son), brothers Lawrence, Francis, William, sisters Linda Gatrell, Viola Isaac, Agnus Bloomfield and numerous uncles, aunties, nephews, nieces, cousins. Linda also leaves behind her legacy of 25 grandchildren and 38 great grandchildren.

A traditional wake and feast will take place on the following days.

Monday August 12/24, a wake will take place at the Kahkewistahaw Community Complex at 4:00PM

Tuesday August 13/24 traditional feast at 11AM, service at 1PM

 

At the request of our sister, aunty, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, the family will honor her wish of being cremated, and taken back to British Columbia, so she can continue to enjoy the beauty of the mountains and the ocean.

 

Linda had a dream to move home to Kahkewistahaw, she came home, and she started her spiritual journey on Kahkewistahaw First Nation. We were blessed to have her in our life, and life will never be the same.
