Mary passed away peacefully on June 12, 2024. She had been married to Calvin Murney from July 15, 1967 until his passing on April 12, 2016. Mary is survived by daughter Jennifer Elliot (Lloyd); son John; and sister Christine Fruk.

Mary had a long and rewarding career as a teacher, loved music, and was always active in the community. She was very artistic, and in her retirement enjoyed entertaining at care homes with her band. Mary was loved much and will be missed greatly.

As per her wishes, a private family graveside service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Marys name can be made to the Last Mountain Pioneer Home, Strasbourg; Heart and Lung Association; or the Canadian Cancer Society.
