Melvin was predeceased by his grandparents Bertha Longman, Henry Campeau, Annie and Ben Campeau; mother Mary (Esther) Longman; siblings Roberta, Glenda, Orrin, and Roseanne.

Melvin is survived by his father Melvin Longman Sr; children Samantha, Renee, Brandon; adopted daughter Andrea Desjarlais; 8 grandchildren; brothers Joseph, Wesley, Alvin, Melvin Severight; sister Brenda; extended family uncles, cousins, nephews and nieces.

Wake will be held Monday October 7, 2024 at 5 pm in the old gym, George Gordon First Nation. Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, October 8, 2024 at 11 am in the same location.
