January 25, 1921 – April 7, 2022

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Nancy Bitternose (Nee Pratt) announce the passing of their beloved Matriarch. She was called home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on April 7, 2022 at the age of 101 Years. She was surrounded by her loving family in the coming days of her passing.

Nancy was predecesed by her parents Alex and Catherine Pratt; husband John James Bitternose; sons Arnold James and Ian; daughters Marlene and Verna; sisters Jemima Pratt, Sarah (Otto) Hoffman, Christina (Willie) Buffalo, Lillian (Bill) Morris; brothers Charles (Mary) Pratt, George (Charlotte) Pratt, Bennett (Gwen) Pratt; grandchildren Steven, Deon, Elden/Cindy and Barkley; Great Grandson Aaron; great granddaughters Melissa and Ryanna; in laws Harry & Louisa Bitternose, William (Evelyn) Bitternose, Thomas (Hazel) Bitternose, Sybil (Sammie) Geddes, Mary Bitternose and Sarah Pratt; son in laws Mervin Bigknife, Billy Geddes, Eddie Miller, Ken Ash.

Nancy leaves to mourn 6 generations – daughters Hilda Bigknife, Cathy Geddes, Liz Bitternose (Henry), Vera Miller-Ash; 17 grandchildren; 46 great grandchildren; 58 great great grandchildren; and one great great great grandchild. Nancy also leaves her adopted children that she had in her life 8 Mclean sons; 5 Mclean daughters; Edmond and Raymond Jordan, chief Bobby Cameron, chief Mike Starr, chief Heather Bear, Ron Bird, Bryan Mcnabb Jr, William Pinacie, Dayle Grey, Darlene Pinacie; also many nieces, nephews, friends, co-workers and others.

Wake will be held Monday April 11, 2022 at 4 pm in the old gym, George Gordon First Nation. Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, April 12, 2022 at 1 pm in the same location. Interment in St Lukes Cemetery, George Gordon First Nation.
