“Dancing Eagle Woman"
November 14, 1984 - October 7, 2020
It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved Naomi Rose Isaac (Penel) – Dancing Eagle Woman Kâ-nîmihitot kihîwiskwēw on October 7, 2020 at the young age of 35 years old.
Penel is predeceased by her baby Katelynn Evelyn Faith McKay, Grandpa Tommy (Tiger) Delorme, Mushum Albert (Boyee) Isaac, Mushum Henry (Chichay) Bear, Grandma Madeline Bear, special cousins Dakota Scunge Isaac, Jimmy Dean Isaac, and Tasheena Bear.
Penel was born in Broadview Saskatchewan on November 14th, 1984. She leaves to mourn her parent’s Sharyn & Dennis Bear, her dad Calvin Isaac (Rosie), her husband Lyndon McKay, and her children Kansas McKay (Brandon), Kryshelle McKay, and Harmony McKay. Her special friends Dale Watson, and Tracy Taypotat; and special cousin Michelle Delorme. Her siblings: Dallas Lafromboise, Richard Lafromboise, Christina Nelson, Naomi Pritchard (Dean), Kareen Kochie, Jason Bear (Christi), Nicole Isaac (Clint), Natasha Isaac (Gord), Alicia Bear, Christopher Bear (Chelsea), Avery Hotomani (Chantelle), Jr Isaac (Fawn), and Jayden Isaac (Brittany). Also left to cherish her memory are her Kokum Evelyne Isaac, and Grandma Alma (Cook) Delorme. Penel will be lovingly remembered by her numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, her Iskotēw ball team, and the many friends who she cared for, and loved dearly.
Penel loved and enjoyed many things in the short time she was with us, some of which included coaching her daughters and supporting them in volleyball, fastball, and hockey; recently she began playing on the same volleyball and fastball teams as them. Her children were her pride and joy! She found comfort in playing and representing her community at numerous FSIN Treaty volleyball, fastball, and hockey tournaments. Penel was also a talented pie maker, often being asked to make pies for family dinners.
Penel will be remembered for her humour. She was often making people laugh around her with her crazy jokes and quick comebacks. She will be deeply missed for her kindness, loving nature, caring heart, and compassion she showed towards all those she crossed paths with. Penel was also very excited about becoming a new Kokum in April of 2021.
