Norma Joyce Harding
May 17, 1936 – October 30, 2023
Joyce was born May 17, 1936, on the family farm in the Copeland district. She was the second child born to Cecil and Edna Worth. Sibling Ray came before, followed by Pat, Mervin, Norman, Keith, Delores, Calvin, and Gail. Joyce was raised on the family farm and after finishing school, she took jobs in the area as a housekeeper and in childcare. Later in Semans she also enjoyed her job as a telephone operator.
Joyce met the love of her life, Leonard Charles Harding while at a dance in Copeland. They were married in 1954 and started farming, spending 59 good years together. During that time, they were blessed with two sons and two daughters. Later, came the spouses, grandchildren, and great grandchildren to complete the family. Joyce worked hard alongside Len at their family farm for over 40 years. In 1985 while continuing to farm they moved to Watrous where they worked as custodians at the high school for eleven years until their retirement. When Len passed away in 2013, she stayed in Watrous for 9 more years. The past 10 months she lived in the Eastview Lodge in Raymore, which she loved. There is nothing she loved more than having friends and family stop by for a visit and a bite to eat whether at the farm or Watrous or Raymore.
Joyce was welcomed into heaven by her loving husband Leonard, granddaughter Kayleen Hage, and great grandbaby Avea Harding. Her parents Edna and Cecil Worth, brothers Mervin and Norman would be there too. Joyce will be dearly missed by her children, Duane (Elaine), Brenda (Ken) Galt, Ken (Donna) &, Donna (Donnie) Hage. She leaves 8 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren to mourn; Justin (Kylie) Harding Blake and William; Josh (Adrianne) Harding Kason and Taylan; Haley (Dylan) Redick Drew, Bennett and Miller; Danielle Galt ; Ryan (Brittney) Harding Jayce, Bodhi, and Beckham; Bradley (Brooklyn) Harding Jack and Molly; Taylor (Jory) Harding Leo and Lily; Kelsey Hage.
