Orest Kotylak
September 9, 1938 - February 2, 2021
We are heartbroken to announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother on February 2, 2021 at the age of 82. Orest passed away peacefully with family by his side in the Intensive Care Unit, Regina Pasqua Hospital. Orest was born September 9, 1938 in the Headlands Post Office area (Lipton district), 5th child of Isaac and Annie (Wingerak) Kotylak. He was fortunate to be able to do what he loved and remained on the farm until his passing. Orest was predeceased by his parents Isaac and Annie Kotylak, mother and father-in-law John and Mary Olinik, sister and brother-in-law Frances and Ned Hrynuik and their son Ricky, brother Don and his son Darren and brother-in-law Alex Mandziak. Also predeceased by members of Kathy’s family.
He will forever be loved and remembered by his wife of 56 years Kathy; daughter Gail (Kim) Senft and grandchildren Dale (Tracey) and Jason (Lo); son Daryl (Corena) and grandchildren Kirsten and Matthew. Also survived by siblings Olga Mandziak, Doreen (Julian) Antoneshyn, Walter (Verna), sister-in-law Brenda and numerous other relatives including Kathy’s siblings and spouses and many nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to thank Valley Ambulance Care, Fort Qu’appelle All Nations Healing Hospital ER staff and the Regina Pasqua Hospital ICU staff for their exceptional care during this difficult time, with a special thank you to Katrina and Trisha for their compassion during his final hours.
A family gathering will take place at a later date when all can gather safely.
