Patricia Goldfinch Obituary

Patricia Goldfinch

June 21, 1940 - March 17, 2025

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Flora Patricia Goldfinch. Pat passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on Monday, March 17, 2025. Pat, the youngest of 12 children, was born on June 21, 1940, to James and Esther Stewart, on the family farm, in Simpson, SK.

While on the family farm, Pat liked the animals including a colt that followed her around the yard. Her formal education was, in the one room schoolhouse, at Sweet Hill. Growing up, Pat enjoyed watching her brothers and cousins play on the Lilyholme ball team. She thoroughly enjoyed the many family gatherings in Simpson, over the years, and spending time with her grandchildren. Pat took pleasure in playing cards, board games, and puzzles. She also enjoyed curling, broomball, and working with the Raymore Minor Hockey teams during the years her boys were playing. It was the simple things like appreciating a cup of coffee and a visit full of laughter, with family or friends, that gave Pat the greatest joy.

After leaving home, Pat worked as a telephone operator in Eston, Saskatoon, and Regina, SK. She married Gordon Goldfinch on July 6, 1963. Pat and Gordon moved to Raymore, SK and eventually to the farm, in 1964, where they raised their family of 5 children. They continued to farm until 2011. After selling the farmland, Pat and Gordon continued to live on the home acreage until 2014 and then moved to Semans, SK. In 2019, due to health issues, Pat began her residency at the Nokomis Care Home.

Pat was predeceased by her daughter, Carmen, in 2023, and is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 61 years, Gordon; daughter, Rosalee (Len Floyd); son, Mitchell (Kathy); son, Lindsay; daughter, Sabrina (Cory Bali); son-in-law, Paul Dubé; grandchildren, Jacqueline (Michael Duck), Alexandra, Jenna, Jace, and Brady; sister, Shirley Armstrong; brothers, Tim Stewart (Linda), and Pete Stewart (Lynne); brother-in-law, Maurice Bartzen; sister-in-law, Dorothy Kostyna, and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Nokomis Health Center. The family thanks the staff, at the Nokomis Health Center, for their care of our beloved wife and mom.

Funeral service will be held on April 5, 2025, at the Semans United Church, at 3:00 p.m. A private interment will take place at a later date.

Arrangements entrusted to Conley Funeral Home, Raymore, SK.
