Percy Goforth Obituary

Percy “Glen” Goforth
(He who takes care of Mother Earth)
March 29, 1935- January 10, 2026

Our father, mosom, uncle, brother and friend left to the spirit world with family surrounding him at the age of 90.
Proceeded by children: Leslie, Rodney, David, Solomon, Lincoln, Cash and Wilhelm. Parents: Ernest and Maggie. Brothers: Aubrey and Jimmy. Sisters: Norma, Rena, Winnie, Maude, Fern and Joyce. Grandchildren: Langan and Clay.
Glen leaves to mourn his soulmate of 69 years, Joyce, daughter Glenda (Gordon). Sisters: Dawn and Michelle. Adopted children: Wavell, Dolphus (Wileen), Sarah. And numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Glen was a diligent and dedicated provider. He spent his life farming and tending to his family land on Peepeekisis. He farmed and served as Peepeekisis Waterman where he established connections within the community. He stepped up as a paternal figure to many. He choose to live a life of intention and tradition by practicing 62 years of sobriety. Glen loved tending to his yard and was proud of how beautifully manicured it was; he spent many evenings riding his lawn mower. Glen was also a avid storyteller who loved sharing stories of his family, friends and Rudolph.

Glen absolutely loved engaging in tradition and teaching his cultural ways. He and his wife Joyce attended many powwows and ceremonies over the years. He enjoyed listening to the drum and watching performances. Glen was incredibly knowledgeable of traditions, treaties and the history of his family and home, Peepeekisis.

The family invites you to sit with him at his residence, house #8, on Peepeekisis First Nation on Monday, January 12, 2026 at 4:00 p.m.
The wake will be held at the Peepeekisis Community Hub on Tuesday, January 13, 2026 at 4:00 p.m.
The funeral service will be held in the same location on Wednesday, January 14, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. with elders and ministers officiating.

The family would also like to thank the doctors and nurses at the All Nations Healing Hospital for your excellent care and compassion for Glen and family.
