Sam was the first born to late Chief Victor Sparvier and late Lillian (Taypotat) Sparvier. He was a man of many skills, a mechanic, grain farmer, semi-truck driver, school bus driver as well as a surveyor. Sam left to that good place the old talk about on Thursday November 6, 2025 on Cowessess Reserve, where he was born on April 13, 1942.

Sam leaves his beloved grandsons Kayden and Julius, Bill who he took as a son, Granddaughter Cerinda and his daughter Samantha and special friend Sheila Stevenson. He leaves his favorites nieces: Sheri and Ty, who he was so proud of with all that they did; as well sisters: Myra Kelly and baby sister Gaylynn along with his 1st cousins that we call our brothers and sisters; and numerous nieces, nephews, and adopted families he made throughout his years. He has now joined the spirit world with his late grandson Izzy, brother Rook, and other loved ones before him.

Heartfelt gratitude to the Moosomin Hospital and Cowessess Home Care Nurses for the compassionate care Sam received.

Funeral Service will be held Monday, November 10, 2025 at 11 am in the Cowessess first Nation community hall. Interment in the Sparvier family cemetery, Cowessess First Nation.
