It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our mother Sarah Jane McNab - Mi yah say kwew eskew (The Moon Shines Brightly Woman). She was born April 29th, 1934 at Asham’s Beach, Pasqua First Nation, and passed away on June 29th, 2022 at the age of 88. Sarah was predeceased by her parents Helena & Albert Cyr; children Donna, Gary, Cheryl and her Baby Sam; 8 grandchildren; brothers Dexter, Allan, Jimmy, John, Joe; sisters Phelomine, Virginia, Beatrice, Saraphine, Rachel, Harriet, Barbara and Rose.

Sarah is survived by her sons Delbert (Sadie), Joseph (Barb), Ron, Eugene (Lisa) ; daughter Joslyn; and grandson she raised Travis (Larissa). Mom also had 24 grandchildren, 75 Great Grandchildren and 4 Great- Great Grandchildren; Sister Caroline Roszell; Brothers Frank Cyr and Earl (Noreen) Cyr.

Mom was an inspiration to us all; she was independent and worked hard to give us a home. We knew we could always count on her. She had a very strong spirit and could overcome every obstacle that came her way. Mom was our anchor when life got stormy, we will miss her presence in our lives. Rest easy Momma until we meet again, you are so loved.

The family would like to thank Silver Heights Care home staff for taking such good care of our Mother.

At the request of family no children allowed at the Wake and Funeral Service.

Wake will be held Saturday, July 2, 2022 at 4 pm in the Old Gym, George Gordon First Nation. Funeral service will be held Sunday, July 3, 2022 at 11 am in the same location. Interment in St Lukes cemetery, George Gordon First Nation
