July 16, 1990 - January 18, 2022

Sharmane Lee Kay, (Kapimohtēt-Pīsim) “Walking Sun”, was born on July 16, 1990 and suddenly passed on January 19, 2022 at the age of 31. Sharmane is predeceased by her maternal grandparents, Evelyn Kay and Russell Asapace, auntie Shellyn Kay, and cousin Tara Poorman, and cousin Hope Lavallee. She was also predeceased by her paternal grandparents, Emma and Edwin Worm, uncle Lyle Worm, aunties Sherry and Valerie Worm. Sharmane leaves to mourn her 8 month old son, Ryan Alexander Piche-Kay, mother, Donalda Kay, and brothers Alex, Travis, Dallas and Randell, as well as her dad, Gregory Worm and stepmom Cheryl Poorman, and sisters Tammy, Teneisha, Cassie, and Makenna. She also leaves to mourn many cousins, aunties, uncles, mushums and kokums, nieces and nephews, too numerous to mention.

Due to the recent surge in COVID cases, the family respectfully asks that we all refrain from shaking hands, hugging and kissing the family and others. We understand the need to provide comfort and love to one another, but during this time, the family wants to provide for a safe atmosphere, and wishes to acknowledge your support. We also ask that you wear masks at all times, with the exception of when you are eating or drinking.

Wake will be held Sunday, January 23, 2022 at 4:00 pm in the Asiniw-Kisik Education Complex, Kawacatoose First Nation. Funeral Service will be held the following day, Monday, January 24, 2022 at 11 am in the same location. Interment in the North Cemetery, Kawacatoose First Nation.
