It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that the family announces the passing of our beloved matriarch, Shirley Delorme, a wife, mother, kokum, relative, and dear friend.

Shirley was predeceased by her beloved parents, Thomas "Tiger" Delorme and Rose Alma "Cook" Delorme; her maternal grandparents, Jim and Harriet; her paternal grandparents, Jousi and Lulu; her brothers, Howard and Chas Delorme; her beloved sister Holly “Birdie” Poitras; her brother-in-law, Gordie Pelletier; her sisters-in-law Bernice Delorme, Debra Delorme and Lorraine Delorme; her nieces, Naomi "Penel" Rose Isaac and Tasheena Bear; and her nephew, Jamie Delorme.

Shirley leaves to mourn her husband of fifty years, Lester, and her children, Stephanie (John), Trisha (Michael) and Thomas Craig. She will be deeply missed by her grandchildren: Brennen, Mycheala, Aaiden, and Henry, who 'occasionally' filled her days with love, laughter, and countless cherished memories. Shirley is also lovingly remembered by her siblings, Alma Pelletier, Bradley Delorme, Barb Mike (Nap), Murray Delorme (Karen), Douglas Delorme, Sharyn Bear, and Keith Delorme. Adopted brothers Dutch Lerat and Dave Fremont. She is also lovingly remembered by her special nieces and nephews: Wendy Delorme, Cheynna Scribner, Chasity Delorme, Nicole Isaac, Freedom Lerat, and Chelsea Poitras, Leon & Curtis Pelletier.

Shirley embraced life with a kind heart and a quiet presence. She had a unique sense of humour, enjoyed sharing stories, and spending time with family and friends. While she never sought the spotlight for herself, she treasured the meaningful moments spent with those she loved. No visit with Shirley was ever complete without her asking about everyone. She genuinely wanted to know how people were doing, what was happening in their lives. She remembered the details, celebrated life's joys, and carried concern for those facing difficult times. Shirley was very generous with her time when it came to being there for her family. Her family was her greatest source of pride and joy, and she expressed her love not only through words but through her unwavering presence, thoughtful gestures, and the quiet ways she cared for others.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who walked beside Shirley throughout her life's journey. Shirley thoroughly enjoyed her many years of work at First Nations University and spoke fondly of her colleagues, in particular Rhonda Thompson, Trudy Missens and David Beaudin. The family is very grateful to all of the healthcare providers in particular Marissa in Unit 3F in the Regina General Hospital, we also are very thankful to the First Nation Health Services; Heidi, Rocky, Donavan, and Tara. All the family, and friends who supported her with compassion and dignity throughout her recent declining health. Your kindness meant the world to Shirley, and she often spoke with gratitude about the people who filled her life with friendship, laughter, and love.

A Celebration of Shirley's Life will be held on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at the Cowessess Community Hall, where family and friends are invited to gather to honour her life, share memories, a meal, and celebrate the beautiful legacy of a woman whose love will continue to live on through the many lives she touched. The family will honour Shirley's wishes to be cremated and not have a wake.
