Virgil Allary Obituary

Virgil Anthony Allary
August 18, 1958 – December 26, 2024

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Virgil Anthony Allary, who went home to be with his ancestors on December 26, 2024. He passed away peacefully at his ranch home on the Kakisiwew-Ochapowace Nation.

Virgil was the beloved husband of Sheila for 27 years and a devoted father to Chrystar (Krystal), Carol (Sean), Jenelle (Kevin), Vincent (Shinay), and Cody. He was a proud Papa to Hailey McKay, Sophia Isaac, Amelia Bear, Dallas Allary, Vincent Jr. Allary, Dante Allary, Mila McKay, Remi McKay, Ella McKay, Lydia Allary, Liam Isaac, Tamara Isaac, Jasper Kaysaywaysemat, Jayvin Kaysaywaysemat, and Natasha Bear. He also cherished his adopted sons, Harley Allary, Kamen and Damen George.

Virgil is survived by his loving siblings Rain Drops, Francine Allary, Theresa Allary, Brent, George, and Geoff Allary, as well as his adopted brothers Randy Pelletier, Darren Shepherd and Christian Allary. He is also survived by his mother-in-law Patricia Delorme, sister-in-law Lana McKay, and brothers-in-law Kevin, Aaron, and Lloyd McKay.

He was predeceased by his son Devon James, parents Alexander Allary Jr. and Thelma Allary (née Shepherd), grandparents Alexander and Marybelle Allary, sister Vivian Allary, brothers Cecil, Faron, Floyd, and Shaun Allary, brother in infancy Vincent Allary, nieces and nephews Kelly, Jace, Prairie, and David, and brother-in-law Sheldon McKay.

Born and raised on the Kakisiwew-Ochapowace Nation, Virgil lived a life rooted in family, tradition, and community. He was a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather who honored the sacredness of the land. A lifelong cattleman, Virgil worked as a proud Pasture Rider at the Nation headquarters for 24 years along with managing his own cattle and land. He later served as a night watchman for community buildings for eight years and became one of the Nation's first Peacekeepers three years ago, serving as a warrior protector of his community.

Wake services will be held on Monday, December 30, 2024 at 4 pm, and Funeral Services on Tuesday, December 31, 2024, at the Chief Denton George Memorial Multiplex on the Kakisiwew-Ochapowace Nation, with interment at the Allary Family resting place. Church services will take place on Monday evening at 7:00 PM and Tuesday at 1:00 PM, officiated by Minister Sundance Brass.

The family kindly requests that all attendees honor Virgil's memory by refraining from attending under the influence of drugs or alcohol. We wish to celebrate his life in a healthy and respectful environment.
